Shochu is a Japanese distilled beverage.
It can be made from from barley, sweet potatoes, rice, buckwheat and other ingredients.
There are many ways to drink shochu.
If you are at all familiar with Japanese alcohol, then you have
probably heard of “shochu”, a popular distilled liquor in japan.
It is made of rice or buckwheat and some are also flavored with potatoes, soba, plum leaf or black sugar.
There are even unique ones like chestnut, onion or aloe as they are made in different area and houses.
Although shochu is made at pretty much everywhere in Japan, Kyushu is a famous district for it.

Oze is the area spreading across Niigata, Gunma and Fukushima,
which consists of the Ozegahara moor,
the Ozenuma marsh and their surrounding mountains including Mt. Hiuchi and Mt. Shibutsu.
Created by the lava flowing from Mt. Hiuchi which dammed up the Tadami River,
it is the largest high moor in Japan set on a basin 1,400 to 1,700 meters above sea level.
This area is well-known for its mizubasho, or Japanese skunk cabbage, and nikko-kisuge, or yellow alpine lily.
